Ford Taurus SHO 2010 Review

Though the car has shown much change from the earlier generation cars yet it hardly feels like a true high-performance coupe. The new EcoBoost V-6 engine is a good addition to the version and consumes less gasoline than any other sedan of the same class. It is observed that the rotors and the calipers are somewhat similar to that if the Ford Flex. The sedan also charges extra for the performance pads that are provided with the car.

The car has much to show and as much to rectify. The suspension and steering are slow and soft for a sports car. Though it is much better than the Taurus, the grip and handling expected of an all-wheel-drive car which is equipped with 19-inch performance tires are not up to the mark. The SHO needs more accurate steering. The communicativeness is relatively good but the car is a problem while turning the corners since the steering effort is not linear and the boost level is also fickle. The other noticeable negative trait is that the car is heavier and feels much bigger when positioned at the driver’s seat. The dashboard is high and the windshield is shorter for the driver.

The car is a luxury sedan which is refined and well maintained. The interior design and the material that is used are of good quality and is a better version than the past generation’s Taurus 500. The interior is very much precise in the SHO than any other Taurus model. The variety of materials used in it blends the sporty and the mature look. The thrust of the twin-turbo gives a 355 hp with the 3.5 liter engine.

The sedan looks pretty good, even if the height and weight are not suitable for a sports sedan car. Secondly, the car has a modern and attractive interior. The most essential and important feature in a sport sedan is that it has a great power-train. With standard all-wheel drive the grip on the ground is acquired quite smoothly and efficiently. However, the brakes again are not very impressive for a sports car.

Though it does not mean that they are unsafe, but rather the opposite. But on a rough road to brake the car the thrust of about 365 hp should be provided to bring a good stop. On the other hand, the car is extremely remarkable for its glide though bad roads.

The delicate exterior styling features separate the SHO version from any regular Taurus though the differences are noticeably small. The horizontal beam lights below the headlights and larger wheels are some features which compliment the car’s beauty.
